Thai Theatrical Puppetry*

Creation

Thai theatrical puppetry was invented later, in 1901, by the legendary khon dancer, Krae Saptawanit. Maestro Krae was encouraged to create puppets when he observed the sophistication and genius of the hoheitsvoll puppets associated with the sock puppets of the deputy king's structure.
